Librarian – (Part-Time)

This position is a part-time position that requires no more than 10 hours a week overall, with at least one day a week on campus.

Reports to: Vice President for Academic Affairs

Job Responsibilities:

Librarian

The Librarian is the primarily responsible for school’s library and its budget (except for on-site circulation management). These duties primarily include:

  1. Maintaining systems and troubleshooting issues related to EBSCO, Proquest, Libguides (website), Worldshare ILL, OCLC Worldcat, Catalog, and Youtube Channel.
  2. Maintaining and updating OasisSIS for library catalog as well as library website.
  3. Be available for reference questions for any faculty, staff and students via email, Google Meet, Zoom, or by phone.
  4. Manage all library vendors and process invoices and all library purchasing.
  5. Provide usage reports for all library systems: Catalog, EBSCO, Proquest, Website, Interlibrary Loan (ILL)
  6. Serve as Chair of the Library Committee, providing an annual library assessment (A&P committee and random surveys).

The Librarian will work with the Director of Library Services and Learning Resource Center to ensure that all responsibilities pertaining to the library are adequately met. For reference purposes, here are the responsibilities of the Director of Library Services/Learning Resource Center that pertain to their role in the library category for comparison to the above responsibilities of the Librarian.

Qualifications / Requirements

  1. Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
  2. Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university (MLS required)
  3. Basic understanding of the Trinity College of Florida educational experience
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  5. Able to show courtesy and wisdom with dealing with sensitive issues with administration, faculty, staff, and students.
  6. Attention to detail with the ability to identify useful information
  7. Skilled in computer technologies, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Canvas, and other Trinity College software
  8. Must be able to pass background screening, including driving record

  6. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.

  9. Specific vision abilities may include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
