Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies

The Associate of Arts degree at Trinity College is a two-year degree offered to students for the purpose of providing a foundational program in Biblical studies.

Students successfully completing this program will demonstrate:

1. General knowledge of the content of Scripture
2. Knowledge and skills for accurate biblical interpretation and application to life situations

Graduation Requirements

All of the following requirements must be met in order to graduate and receive an Associate of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Trinity College:

1. Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 60 semester credit hours with at least a 2.0 cumulative grade point average including completion of the Associate of Arts curriculum, Chapel, and Christian Service requirements. The final 30 credit hours and at least 50% of all major course credit hours must be completed in residence at Trinity College.
2. Satisfactory completion of all Trinity College assessment procedures
3. Continued evidence of a consistent, genuine, Christian testimony
4. Continued essential agreement with the Doctrinal Statement of the College
5. Satisfactory fulfillment of all financial obligations to the College. No degree will be granted or transcript provided to a student with an outstanding financial obligation to the College.
6. Affirmative recommendation for graduation by the faculty, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the Board of Trustees.

Associate of Arts in General Studies

The Associate of Arts degree in General Studies is designed to give students valuable preparation for further studies, by providing them with introductory general studies courses while helping them develop a foundational biblical perspective.

 Students successfully completing this program will demonstrate:

1. A general knowledge of the content of Scripture
2. College-level competence in the general skills that form the foundation for all learning: reading, writing/composition, and critical thinking
3. Introductory knowledge of Western culture integrating themes from history, science, philosophy, or literature

2. A personal understanding of his/her core competencies as it relates to the ability to lead in an ethical manner through negotiation, inspiration, teamwork, and strategic decision-making.
3. An in-depth understanding of how to integrate his/her faith into all areas of business and organizational life.

The Leadership Concentration equips students to be influential, ethical change agents in both the public and private sectors. The student will study current and emerging leadership theories, best practices, skills, and tools used to influence others to generate innovation, creativity, and change within organizations.

Students successfully completing this program will demonstrate:

1. An advanced understanding and application of leadership theories to effectively motivate others, lead innovation, and impact an organization for successful growth.

The purpose of the social media management degree concentration is to provide students with a deep understanding of the role of social media in today’s digital landscape. The concentration is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to create and execute effective social media strategies that drive business success.

Students successfully completing this program will demonstrate:

1. Mastery of social media platforms: Students will have a deep understanding of how to use social media platforms such as to build brand awareness, engage with clients, and drive website traffic.
2. Research skills: Students will learn how to conduct research to inform social media strategies, including how to analyze audience demographics, identify trends, and track social media metrics.
3. Content creation: Students will learn how to create compelling social media content, including how to write effective copy, design eye-catching graphics, and produce engaging videos.
4. Community management: Students will learn how to manage online communities, including how to respond to client inquiries, handle negative feedback, and cultivate brand advocates.
5. Strategy development: Students will learn how to develop and execute comprehensive social media strategies, including how to set goals, identify target audiences, and measure success.
6. An in-depth understanding of how to integrate his/her faith into all areas of business and organizational life.

Purpose: The Elementary Education major is designed for students who sense their teaching gift and desire to express it in academic settings to include Christian schools,

public schools, or charter schools.

Graduation requirement for Florida Department of Education Certification:

General Knowledge and K-6 subject area exams.

Student Learning Outcome Goals:

1. A basic academic knowledge of the histories and philosophies of education of both Christian and public schools include an ability to compare and contrast these respective philosophies.
2. Skill in the various techniques, methods, and strategies necessary for being an effective teacher.
3. An understanding of and proficiency in professional terminology, pedagogy, and ethics necessary to effectively teach in both Christian and public schools.

Bachelor of Arts Interdisciplinary Studies

Purpose: The Interdisciplinary Studies Major is designed for students whose vocational objectives draw from multiple disciplines and who are seeking a well-rounded undergraduate education. It allows students the flexibility to design their own programs specific to their long-term goals. This major would be appropriate preparation for additional studies at the graduate level or for individuals anticipating attending seminary.

Note-Interdisciplinary studies involves the combination of two or more academic disciplines into one activity.

Students successfully completing this program will demonstrate:

1. Advanced skills in written communication,
2. Advanced knowledge of the Western intellectual tradition,
3. Advanced ability to integrate their Christian faith with the content areas of two or more disciplines.

Program: Students select 30 credits from two or more disciplines (core courses) with at least 18 semester hours at the 3000 level or above. Students will also complete two semester long internships that are aligned with the selected disciplines within the major.

Bachelor of Arts Interdisciplinary Studies | English Education Concentration

Purpose: The English Education Concentration in the Interdisciplinary Studies major is designed for students who intend to seek employment as a teacher of English Language
Arts for grades 6-12 in private, public, or charter schools. This concentration provides appropriate preparation for additional studies at the graduate level in English Education,
Literacy Studies, Cultural Studies, the Humanities, Educational Leadership, or Curriculum & Instruction. While this major does not lead directly to state licensure for teaching English,
completion of the program with a GPA of 2.5 or higher in the content area courses does fulfill the requirements for eligibility for a temporary license in the state of Florida.

Students successfully completing this program will demonstrate:

1. Advanced skills in written communication
2. Advanced knowledge of the Western intellectual tradition
3. Advanced ability to integrate their Christian faith with the content areas of English and Education

Purpose: The Theology major is designed for students who are seeking an intensive undergraduate theological and biblical studies education. This major would be appropriate preparation for those interested in studying theology or biblical studies at the graduate level, for those interested in graduate-level studies in any one of the humanities, or for individuals anticipating attending seminary.

Students successfully completing the Theology B.A. program will demonstrate:

1. Advanced knowledge of biblical studies.
2. Knowledge of the history of Christian thought.
3. Advanced skills in translation and interpretation of biblical Greek.
