Mark 13:13 – You will be hated by all because of My name, but the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.

Jesus Christ and have not found this yet true, you live a sheltered life. Jesus is warning His disciples about the road ahead of them after He dies. It will be bumpy and steep and surrounded by some people who disagree with you (if you’re lucky) and others who want to kill you (if you’re not lucky). Let’s be honest, there are two groups of people you will encounter. First, those who think you are a bigot and a fool for believing in the Bible. These are the obvious ones who will slander you and insult you. At times, they will persecute you and even seek to end your life because of their hatred for God. This first group of people can be found everywhere, and their degree of hatred varies widely. But there is a second group of haters that you need to look out for. They are sneakier than the first, and they veil their hatred well. No, this group does not scream at you or attack you to your face. Quite the opposite, in fact. This group slinks up from behind and ambushes you without warning. They do not hate God, though; they actually profess to love Him. They just hate you. This second group is made up of fellow followers of Christ. Yes, there will be Christians who hate you because of your relationship with Jesus Christ. It seems weird, I know. Most often, they attack out of jealousy. But they have been provoked for many other reasons too. You have been called to follow God’s plan. You need to be obedient and faithful so that He is pleased with your life. Other believers will see your walk, and it will convict them because they ought to be doing the same thing in their life. They may try to trip you up or distract you from your calling but stay focused on God and His glory. He is your pursuit, not anything else. Just to know Him and glorify Him. Let Him deal with the others.
