Salary
Commensurate with education and experience (plus medical insurance, $15,000 term life policy, 401K retirement program). Moving expenses reimbursed up to $3500.

General Overview:
The Vice President for Academic Affairs will give oversight and lead the faculty, supervise the curriculum; direct the faculty in its organizational activities; evaluate and report on academic programs and problems for the counsel of the President and Board; aid in the selection and development of the faculty; and arrange class schedules and faculty assignments. The Vice President for Academic Affairs shall supervise the degree completion program, the Registrar’s Office, the Library, the Director of Institutional Effectiveness, and any other designated department or function authorized by the President. The Vice President for Academic Affairs shall also seek and oversee the Accreditation processes for the College. This position serves on the President’s Cabinet as the second in command over the entire institution behind the President, and when the President is out of town or absent, serves as the officer-in-charge of the College.
Qualifications:
The Vice President for Academic Affairs shall have the education and background to assure a depth of understanding of the overall educational program and sufficient administrative skill to provide leadership in the coordination of the duties and activities of the various educational departments. A terminal degree is an essential qualification in order to meet appropriate ABHE standards of Chief Academic Officers.
Essential Functions:
- Develop educational policies in consultation with the faculty as appropriate.
- Formulates the budget recommendation for the Division of Academic Affairs including faculty salaries and expense items, the Registrar’s Office and the Library.
- Recommends hiring and continuation of faculty members to the President.
- Supervises and evaluates the faculty. The Dean oversees the assignment of faculty offices.
- Supervises and evaluates the Registrar and Director of Institutional Effectiveness.
- Supervises and evaluates the Director of Library Services, Learning Resource Center, and Librarian.
- Oversees the establishment of on-campus committees and Chairs the Academic Affairs Committee.
- Handles student issues relating to faculty and academic affairs.
- Assures institutional compliance with Florida state educational law and the Commission for Independent Education and other divisions of the Florida State Department of Education.
- Assures institutional compliance with accreditation standards and acts as liaison with the Association for Biblical Higher Education.
- Responsible for overseeing the planning and evaluation process at the College (Assessment and Planning Committee). The Dean does not need to serve as Chairman of the committee.
- Plans the class schedule in the four-year program of the College and assigns appropriate faculty members.
- Oversees the academic component of the degree completion program and approves all faculty contracts for that program.
- Prepares program and curriculum proposals for submittal to the Faculty and Board of Trustees.
- Creates and implements programs for faculty development.
- Chairs faculty meetings.
- Serves as liaison to the Board of Trustees on the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board.
- Coordinates all activities relating to graduation, including the approval of graduates.
- Represents the College through involvement in community activities as appropriate.
- Edits and revises the College catalog and Faculty handbook on an annual basis.
- Implements the College’s Strategic Plan in appropriate areas.

- A person who is able to maintain normal fitness for general office duties.
