Finding Books, E-Books, and Journals
Books
Books in the Raymond H. Center Library are organized using a modified Dewey Decimal Classification system. The following call-number ranges cover major areas of religious and theological study:

These websites can support Bible reading and preliminary study. For academic assignments, consult scholarly books and journal articles as well, and evaluate each website according to your instructor’s requirements.
Bible Reading and Study Tools
Bible Gateway
Read and search the Bible in many translations and languages. The site also provides audio Bibles, reading plans, and selected study tools. Some features require a paid membership.
Bible Hub
Provides parallel Bible translations, interlinear texts, concordances, dictionaries, commentaries, and Greek and Hebrew study tools.
Bible Study Tools
Offers searchable Bible translations, reading plans, concordances, dictionaries, commentaries, and other devotional and study resources. Some material requires a subscription.
Blue Letter Bible
Provides Bible translations, interlinear tools, lexicons, concordances, commentaries, and audio and video resources. The site approaches Scripture from a historically conservative Christian perspective.
STEP Bible
A free Scripture study platform from Tyndale House, Cambridge, offering original-language tools, lexical information, multiple translations, and detailed searches. This is a useful addition for biblical language study.
BibleProject
Provides free videos, podcasts, articles, classes, and visual resources that explore the literary structure, themes, and historical context of the Bible.
Christian Texts and Historical Resources
Christian Classics Ethereal Library
Provides searchable editions of classic Christian books, theological works, sermons, hymns, and reference materials. Many texts can be read online without charge.
Codex Sinaiticus
Provides digital images and transcriptions of Codex Sinaiticus, a fourth-century Greek biblical manuscript containing the oldest complete surviving copy of the New Testament and portions of the Greek Old Testament. The site also explains the manuscript’s history and physical features.
Jonathan Edwards Center and Online Archive
Provides digital editions, manuscript images, sermons, writings, and research resources related to theologian Jonathan Edwards. The Center is affiliated with Yale Divinity School.
Journals and Specialized Resources
Homiletic
A freely accessible, peer-reviewed journal covering preaching, homiletical theory, biblical interpretation for preaching, religious communication, and related scholarship. The previous Vanderbilt submissions link should be replaced with this current journal homepage.
Journal of Dispensational Theology
The academic journal of Tyndale Theological Seminary, focusing on biblical exegesis, theology, and dispensational thought. Availability of full text varies by issue, so the old statement limiting its archive to 2006–2010 should be removed.
Bible Software
The CrossWire Bible Society
Develops and supports open-source Bible software, including the SWORD Project and compatible Bible study applications. Available texts and features vary by application.
