Dennis Cox, retired as Vice President of Academic Affairs in the fall of 2020 having served in that position for five years. He initially began his career at Trinity College of Florida in 1984, as the Chairman of the Counseling Department, and one of our very respected and distinguished faculty members. Two years prior to that, alongside his wife, he started Trinity Counseling Service. As a licensed Mental Health Counselor, he served the Tampa Bay area for 32 years. Born and raised in southern Iowa, he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education and his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity College and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. After starting and pastoring a church for nearly ten years, he went on to obtain both his Master’s and Doctoral degrees in Interpersonal Communication from the University of South Florida. His master’s thesis centered around Stepfamily relationships, while his doctoral thesis focused on identity and role conflict in the Pastoral Marriage. He and Sharon have 3 children and 5 grandchildren, of which, one is a foster child.
