College Honors 2009-2010 Student Athletes

On April 6th Trinity College of Florida hosted its Annual Sports Banquet.  Student athletes who competed in the 2009-2010 season were honored for their accomplishments.  Awards were presented in three categories:  Most Valuable Player, Most Improved Player, and the Trinity Excellence Award which honors a student athlete’s leadership, Christian service, academic excellence and commitment to teamwork.  This year’s recipients were:

    Most Valuable Player

     Rachel Castelao, Women’s Volleyball

     Tim Mitchell, Men’s Basketball  

     Josh Esparza, Intramural Men’s Soccer  

    Most Improved Player

     Juliana Anderson, Women’s Volleyball

     Cliff Stanley, Men’s Basketball  

    Trinity Excellence Award

     Dawn Shoemaker, Women’s Volleyball

The evening’s keynote speaker was Zenon Andrusyshyn.   Mr. Andrusyshyn played professional football for 16 years in the NFL, CFL, and USFL.  He holds the world record for longest punt in pro-football history:  108 yards:  CFL 1977.  He is an ordained by the Southern Baptist Convention and a graduate from Dallas Theological Seminary.
