College Adds New Management & Ethics Major

During its October 2010 meeting, the Trinity College of Florida Board of Trustees voted to approve the addition of a new management and ethics major.  The new major will be available for students beginning in the 2011-2012 academic year.  The management and ethics major will provide foundational preparation in business management theory and practice from a Christian perspective.  A management and ethics degree from Trinity College of Florida will seek to produce graduates who can serve in the business and/or non-profit sector and will provide basic fundamentals for students choosing to further their academic study at the graduate level.

Students successfully completing this program will demonstrate:

  1. A basic understanding of the major concepts and ideas in various areas related to business management such as accounting, marketing, management and others.
  2. Skills in applying the concepts and ideas of business management to real-world situations.
  3. The ability to integrate Christian ethics and values with the practice of business management.

According to the 2009-2010 Almanac Issue of The Chronicle of Higher Education, the top field of study in 2006-2007 in terms of bachelors degrees awarded was Business with 327,531. Additionally, between 1996-1997 and 2006-2007 the number of bachelors degrees awarded in business increased by 45%.
